Trained at the highest level
of electrophysiology

Dr. Yajnik Mukund Kumble is a consultant cardiac electrophysiologist practising at Holy Family Hospital and Research Centre, Mumbai, and Mangalore Heartscan Foundation, Mangalore. He completed his DrNB Cardiology at Holy Family Hospital, followed by fellowship training in cardiac electrophysiology, and subsequently an advanced fellowship in EP at the prestigious Fuwai Hospital in Beijing β€” one of Asia's foremost cardiovascular centres.

His clinical interests span the full spectrum of cardiac arrhythmia management: complex radiofrequency catheter ablation, permanent pacemaker implantation, ICD therapy, cardiac resynchronisation therapy (CRT), conduction system pacing, and management of channelopathies and sudden cardiac death.

Dr. Kumble has a strong academic track record with peer-reviewed publications in PACE-Wiley and the Indian Pacing and Electrophysiology Journal, and presentations at major international conferences including APHRS, IHRSCON, and Summa.

Procedures & Specialisations

⚑
Complex RF Catheter Ablation

High-fidelity radiofrequency ablation for complex arrhythmia substrates using 3D electroanatomic mapping (CARTO/EnSite). Includes irrigated-tip catheters, contact force guidance, and power-controlled lesion delivery for durable transmural lesion sets.

πŸ«€
SVT & VT Ablation

Ablation of AVNRT (typical and atypical), AVRT, accessory pathways, outflow tract VT, idiopathic VT, and substrate-based scar-related VT in ischaemic and non-ischaemic cardiomyopathy.

πŸ“‘
Atrial Fibrillation Ablation

Pulmonary vein isolation and beyond β€” posterior wall isolation, CFAE ablation, and ablation of persistent and long-standing persistent AF using point-by-point RF and cryoballoon strategies.

πŸ”‹
Permanent Pacemaker Implantation

Single- and dual-chamber pacemaker implantation for sinus node dysfunction, high-degree AV block, and chronotropic incompetence. Includes device programming optimisation and long-term follow-up surveillance.

πŸ›‘οΈ
Implantable Cardioverter Defibrillator

Primary and secondary prevention ICD implantation β€” single-coil, dual-coil, and subcutaneous ICD (S-ICD). Specialised in VT zone programming, ATP optimisation, and reduction of inappropriate shocks.

πŸ”„
Cardiac Resynchronisation Therapy

CRT-P and CRT-D implantation for heart failure with reduced ejection fraction and LBBB. Expertise in complex coronary sinus lead positioning and AV/VV delay programming.

πŸ”Œ
Conduction System Pacing

His-bundle pacing and left bundle branch area pacing (LBBAP) as physiological alternatives to conventional RV pacing β€” offering superior haemodynamic outcomes.

🧬
Channelopathies & Inherited Arrhythmias

Risk stratification and management of Brugada syndrome, long QT syndrome, CPVT, and Ebstein anomaly-related arrhythmias including complex accessory pathway anatomy.

πŸ—ΊοΈ
3D Electroanatomic Mapping

Advanced electroanatomic mapping for substrate characterisation, scar delineation, and tachycardia circuit identification β€” enabling precise, anatomy-guided ablation.

Frequently Asked Questions

What conditions does Dr. Kumble treat? +
Dr. Kumble treats the full spectrum of heart rhythm disorders including atrial fibrillation, SVT, ventricular tachycardia, heart block, and inherited conditions such as Brugada syndrome and long QT syndrome. He also manages patients requiring pacemakers, ICDs, and cardiac resynchronisation devices.
What is a cardiac electrophysiologist? +
A cardiac electrophysiologist is a cardiologist with additional subspecialty training in the electrical system of the heart. EPs diagnose and treat arrhythmias using catheter ablation, implantable devices, and electrophysiology studies.
What is catheter ablation and is it safe? +
Catheter ablation is a minimally invasive procedure where thin flexible wires are guided to the heart to identify and eliminate the source of an abnormal rhythm. It is well-established with high success rates and a strong safety profile.
Where can I consult Dr. Kumble? +
Dr. Kumble consults at Holy Family Hospital and Research Centre, Bandra West, Mumbai (1st & 3rd Friday & Saturday of every month, 4–7 PM) and at Mangalore Heartscan Foundation, Bendoor, Mangalore (Monday to Friday, 4–7 PM). Please call 9845383138 or 9321100499 to book an appointment.
Do I need a referral to see Dr. Kumble? +
A referral is not strictly required. You are welcome to contact the hospital directly to schedule a consultation.
What should I bring to my first consultation? +
Please bring any previous ECGs, Holter monitor reports, echocardiograms, and a list of your current medications. If you have had prior cardiac procedures or device implants, bring the relevant reports and device ID cards.
